The Celtic details on this pen are classical and regal looking.  From the intricate Celtic knot scrollwork to the imported Irish wood this pen has been designed as a tribute to Irish heritage and spirit.

Celtic knot patterns plated in titanium gold decorate the clip, center band, and finial.

The wood chosen for this pen is Irish Bog Oak.

The wood itself is imported directly from Ireland. It is referred to as "Irish Bog Oak" or "Black Oak". Found submerged and preserved in bogs, it has been carbon dated with an age rage spanning from 3,000 to 8,000 years old. A brief history of the wood can be found further down.

Roller ball pens use a wet ink that flows from the tip. Writing with one is effortless compared to a ballpoint that rubs the dry type ink off from friction.

The premium Schmidt roller ball refill included with this pen can be replaced by refills found at any office supply store.

The removable ParkerĀ® style refill is available at any office supply or stationary store.  Pen will ship with black gel standard.

Celtic Wood Pen in Ancient Irish Bog Oak

$100.00Price
  • Thousands of years ago the Irish climate was much warmer and drier than we know it today. Oak trees grew profusely throughout the country.

Over time the climate changed to a wetter and damper era. The roots of great oaks lost their grip in the soggy soil and fell to the ground. The tanic acid in the oak trees interacted with the decaying vegetation turning the oak black or a darker brown and preserving it for posterity. It is often referred to as black oak.

This decaying vegetation forms today's bogs. As the turf is cut the ancient oak is uncovered where it was lain for thousands of years.

With a striking dark color and deep wood grain, bog oak is a sought after material for artists and craftsman.
